Dorothy House Hospice Care Santa and Elf Run 2017
In this blog we are taking a look at the recent Dorothy House Hospice Care Santa and Elf Run 2017, an event held to raise funds for our chosen company charity, Dorothy House Hospice Care. We are proud to say we had three of our team take part and between them they raised well over £150 in the process.
The Santa and Elf run has become an annual event and this year was held on Sunday 3rd December. It took place around the beautiful grounds of Dorothy House in Winsley, where the course followed the footpaths and country lanes around the village itself.
The event was open to both adults and children alike, catering for both the serious runner and those looking to take it a bit slower, ensuring all had fun whilst taking part. The adults ran or walked in Santa suits supplied as part of the registration pack that they received on the day, while the children’s pack included elf accessories to dress up in.
The experienced runners could opt for the 5km route whilst the less confident runners could take the shorter 2.5km option. One section of the course featured the festive snow station, which featured bio-degradable fake snow this year, but still fun none the less.
The participants were lucky with the weather. It was a little cold, but as all good Santas know, this helps to keep the body temperature controlled, especially when running in a Santa hat, beard and jacket!
As mentioned above, the festive trio managed to raise £185 in sponsorship for Dorothy House Hospice care and made everyone here at George Banco very proud in the process.
Dorothy House is something that is close to our hearts here at George Banco and raising money for such a worthwhile cause is the least we can do.
Congratulations Sam, Emma and Ben.
